Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Church of the Obelisk?

The Church of the Obelisk is an ancient organization that has existed as long as the human spirit. At the dawn of humankind we gazed upon the universe and pondered its existence and our own. One cannot fathom the unfathomable and yet, it is not the destination that is important, it is the journey. Recently, we have gotten access to the internet. So now we may connect with you here, if you allow it.

Are You Actually A Church?

Of a sort. We are a fellowship. A community. An idea. A rough and unwieldy concept.

We are a consortium of individuals who wondered at their place in the universe and found no answers. We have been brought together by our lack, and here, together, we have found meaning.

So… What Do You Guys Do?

What do you do?

Do you breath? Do you move? Do you stare at a world that moves apace whether you observe it or not?

Do you yearn for connection, for contact, for love?

Do you taste food? Touch objects? Speak with people? Do you look at the stars and wonder why?

Do you breathe?

So do we.

Oookay… But If You Are A Church What Do You Believe In?

We believe in nothing.

We believe in everything. We believe in you.

We believe that we will not always be here in this world.
We believe that this world itself will not always be here.
But we believe that we are here now.

You are here.

So are we.

This will not always be true.
We must make the most of the time we have.

This is all there is

Still here? Perhaps you should look away from your screen.
Go outside.

Go on.

We shall still be here on your return.
